Chlorella Guacamole: An Easy Green Dip Recipe

Chlorella guacamole is an easy savoury recipe because avocado already has a creamy texture, green colour, and enough flavour partners to balance an earthy powder. Lime, onion, cilantro, tomato, and salt make the dip familiar while chlorella blends into the background.

This recipe makes about two cups. Use the amount of AimGrow Organic Chlorella Powder stated on the current package. Add it gradually; more powder is not automatically more useful or more enjoyable.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons finely diced red or white onion
  • 1 small tomato, seeded and diced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro, optional
  • 1 small jalapeño, finely chopped, optional
  • Chlorella powder, within the current label directions
  • Salt to taste

Mix the chlorella without dark clumps

In a small cup, stir the chlorella with one teaspoon of lime juice and one teaspoon of mashed avocado. This creates a smooth green paste. If you sprinkle dry powder over a full bowl, you may have to mash the avocados more than you want.

Halve and pit the avocados, scoop the flesh into a bowl, and mash to your preferred texture. Fold in the chlorella paste, onion, tomato, cilantro, jalapeño, and a pinch of salt. Taste, then add more lime or salt in small steps.

Balance an earthy flavour

Ripe avocado provides fat and a mild base. Lime brings acidity, onion adds sharpness, tomato adds sweetness and moisture, and cilantro reinforces the green aroma. If the dip tastes too grassy, add more plain avocado rather than trying to cover the flavour with a large amount of salt.

A small spoonful of plain yogurt can make the dip lighter, while roasted corn or diced mango adds sweetness. These changes also dilute the chlorella, so adjust seasonings after mixing.

What to serve with it

  • Tortilla chips or toasted pita
  • Cucumber, bell pepper, carrot, and radish
  • Tacos, burrito bowls, or baked potatoes
  • Eggs, beans, or grilled vegetables
  • Sandwiches in place of mayonnaise

For a party platter, place the guacamole in a shallow bowl and add tomatoes, herbs, and lime wedges at the edge. Keep the AimGrow pouch beside the preparation area for context, then move it away from wet serving utensils.

How to slow surface browning

Avocado browns when cut surfaces are exposed to oxygen. Lime can slow the change and add flavour, but it will not keep the dip bright forever. Press food-safe wrap directly against the surface, cover the container, and refrigerate promptly.

Do not use extra chlorella simply to disguise browning. Colour is not a reliable freshness test, and the powder cannot reverse oxidation or unsafe storage.

Turn it into a complete snack

Guacamole supplies avocado and flavour, but the nutrition of the snack depends on everything you serve with it. Add beans, yogurt, tofu, eggs, or another suitable protein source if you want a more substantial meal. Choose vegetables, whole-grain crackers, or other sides that fit your needs.

Chlorella should remain one ingredient in a varied diet. The recipe is not a detox treatment, a replacement for vegetables, or proof of a health outcome.

Store the dip safely

FoodSafety.gov recommends refrigerating perishable foods within two hours and keeping the refrigerator at 40°F (4°C) or below. Use a clean serving spoon, avoid repeated room-temperature exposure, and follow the shortest storage guidance that applies to your ingredients.

If the guacamole sat out too long, has mould, or has an unexpected spoiled odour, discard it. A darker top layer can be ordinary oxidation, but appearance alone cannot confirm safety.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make it without cilantro?

Yes. Use chives, parsley, or no herb at all. The core recipe still works with avocado, lime, onion, and salt.

Can I use frozen avocado?

Yes, if it is intended for food use and thawed safely. The texture may be smoother and less chunky than fresh avocado.

Can I make it spicy?

Add jalapeño, serrano, chilli flakes, or hot sauce gradually. Taste the finished dip because heat can hide other flavours.

Does chlorella keep guacamole fresh?

No. It adds colour and flavour, but safe temperature, clean utensils, oxygen control, and time still determine storage.

For the most enjoyable AimGrow Chlorella guacamole, make a smooth concentrate, fold gently, and let the avocado—not the powder—remain the star.
